Aloha and welcome to the Exotic Tiki Island Podcast with your host, Tiki Brian.
Aloha and welcome to another episode of the Exotic Tiki Island Podcast. This is show number 6, and I’m your host, Tiki Brian. Join me for another trip back to the island as I play some of my favorite vintage Hawaiian, Exotica, and island-related music from my LP collection.
In this episode, we’ll be visiting the main beach, the bamboo bar, and then travel up to a newly discovered place on the upper north end of the island. It’s called the Exotic Orchid Cove, and it’s a great place to relax in your hammock while sipping on your favorite cocktail as the perfect island breeze brushes against your face while listening to the ever-entrancing sounds of Exotica music. I’m sure you’ll enjoy this newly discovered island paradise as much as I do, but I must warn you, there’s more to Exotic Orchid Cove than meets the eye.
Our boat is approaching the dock and is almost ready to take us back in time to the island. But before we board, I wanted to send out a big mahalo to a fellow podcaster, Ken Jones. Ken is the host of the Prince of Ponds Podcast.
He is an expert on creating professional water features for your home, backyard or business. If you need help creating a tropical pond, waterfall, fountain, lagoon or water garden, Ken is the go-to guy for the job. I was honored to be interviewed by Ken on his podcast and introduce his audience to the world of Hawaiian, exotica and island-related music, which by the way, goes perfectly with his water features.
Check out his podcast and website by visiting ornamentalwaterfeatureacademy.com. I’ll post a link for his website in the show notes. Be sure to listen to the Prince of Ponds Podcast.
You won’t be disappointed.
Our boat is ready for boarding. Let’s get ready for your voyage back in time to Exotic Tiki Island.
Gliding gracefully out of our home port en route to Honolulu, our ship sails majestically under the so-called Golden Gate, the largest single-span bridge in existence, and out into the alluring expanse of the Pacific Ocean where the rhythmic movement of the waves soon lulls us into a state of mental relaxation and happy diversion. The cares of a troubled world are forgotten as the balmy breezes of the Pacific and the warming rays of a subtropical sun encourage lazy relaxation in the pleasant company of the lovable friends.
Welcome to the Main Beach on Exotic Tiki Island. We arrived just in time to witness a live Polynesian luau dinner show being performed right here on the Main Beach. I hope you’re hungry and ready for some outstanding entertainment.
Oh, and I took the liberty of reserving front row seats for all of you so that we have the best view of the show. Enjoy, my friends.
And here we meet again beneath the mighty Moana Banyan tree beside the sea. The great panorama of Waikiki Beach before us. Old diamond head at one end, surfboards and outrigger canoes catching waves out there.
Many colors along the shore, a bright and beautiful picture. This is Webley Edwards speaking for all the islanders, for these many mainlanders from so many places, whose voices now rise with us in that traditional shout that begins our songs from the island. Our aloha as Hawaii call.
Someday I’ll sure make good.
Do everything I should. Be president, maybe.
Need no more from the store.
No care tomorrow.
Fish and pork, fish and pork.
All day long eat fish and pork. Big old poo, hello.
One of the most important religious rituals in the islands is firewalking. This ritual originated back in the days when we still worshiped the volcano goddess Pili. The Indians in India still do the firewalk.
The Japanese at one time did firewalking. The Tahitians are the last of the Polynesian people who still believe and do firewalking. We do for you the Tahitian Firewalk.
You have just seen the solo dance. One of the traditional dances of Tahiti, the type of dance that we do in Tahiti when we’re having a party and just dancing for fun. One of the most exciting dances from the island of Samoa is the Samoan Fire Knife Dance.
This dance originated back in the days when we still had war dances. We do for you the Fire Knife Dance.
That was great. The fire dance was quite impressive. Let’s move on to our next location on the island and head over to The Bamboo Bar.
Now, for those of you who don’t know about The Bamboo Bar, it’s a small place, very dimly lit, and it kind of gives you the feeling you’re walking in a dark jungle late at night. We can stop in for a drink and listen to some music that some people believe to be taboo, but I’m sure all of you won’t think that.
The Exotic Tiki Island Podcast will be right back after this important message.
Hey Joe, bowling.
Let’s go. Oh, oh yeah.
Look, I’ll be out in a minute.
Hot diggity dog, Armour Franks. Ahoy there, mateys. Here’s a new Hot Dog Diggity Party Kid.
This time, a pirate party. As host, you get a real pirate hat and eye patch. And there’s a treasure map and ring for you and every member of your crew.
Follow the map to discover your own Armor Star Frank and a nifty pirate ring. Then everybody gather around and dig in to those sizzly, juicy Armor Star Franks. Hot dog diggity, are they good?
Armor Star Franks. Be the first to give a real pirate party. Send in this backboard plus 50 cents.
This party book inside each package of Armor Franks has loads of party ideas and tells you just how to send for your pirate party kit. Hats, eye patch, eight maps and eight rings. Ask mom to get some Armor Star Franks tomorrow.
The Bamboo Bar. This dimly lit jungle theme watering hole was the perfect place to rest while taking in some great Exotica sounds. This way, my friends, this way.
Well, there you have it, Exotica Music at its best. Oh, would you look at the time. I think we should head up to Exotic Orchid Cove.
It’s a newly discovered place, located on the upper north end of Exotic Tiki Island, and many of the tropical flowers and orchids are in full bloom. Seeing this tropical paradise will make you forget about all of your worries in the present day and time and take you to an enchanted place that is not only pleasing to your eyes but your ears as well. Let’s go!
Stay right there, people. The Exotic Tiki Island Podcast will return right after this important message.
Hello, this is Ken Jones, host of the podcast, Prince of Ponds and Pentek. You are listening to my favorite music program, the Exotic Tiki Island Podcast.
Welcome to the Exotic Orchid Cove. This tropical paradise has a very interesting story to it. Many years ago, when the Tiki gods created Exotic Tiki Island, they hid an ancient green jewel skull with magic powers in a place called Exotic Orchid Cove, so that it wouldn’t fall into the wrong hands.
The Tiki gods were very clever and hid the skull somewhere within the cove and camouflaged it with beautiful tropical orchids. This would distract would-be thieves in making them forget about the green jewel skull by mesmerizing them with the pure beauty of the orchids. Until recently, nobody even thought the Exotic Orchid Cove even existed, until a group of hikers exploring the remote areas of the island came across this cove, confirming its existence and the beautiful orchids within.
Now here’s where the story gets very interesting. Legend has it that when these orchids are exposed to beautiful exotic music, they will reveal the ancient green jewel skull and the powers that it possesses. Luckily, I happen to have some beautiful exotic music with me, so I’m going to play some just to see what happens.
What say you?
Thank you.
I think the orchids have started to go back down into the ground and are disappearing.
I can feel the island trembling, the wind is blowing. All of the orchids have disappeared, and there seems to be something rising up out of the ground. I’m not sure what I did, but I think we better take cover just to be safe.
Let’s go over here under these palm trees.
Thank This is incredible.
It’s the Green Jewel Skull, it’s rising up out of the ground.
Find out what happens to Tiki Brian and his friends when they witness for the first time the green jewel skull and the powers it possesses. All this and more coming in Show 7 of the Exotic Tiki Island Podcast. See you next time.
