Aloha, and welcome to the Exotic Tiki Island Podcast. This is show number 8, and I’m your host, Tiki Brian. And you’re about to transcend back in time to a place called Exotic Tiki Island, where I’ll be playing vintage Hawaiian, exotica, and island-related music from my vintage vinyl record collection.
In this show, we’ll be visiting the Main Beach, Grandpa Otto’s Grotto, and their Hurricane Hut Lounge. And as usual, I’ll throw in some interesting surprises, too. As we’re waiting to travel back in time to the island, I would like to share some news with you.
First, I’m very excited to announce that the Exotic Tiki Island Facebook page has received over 100 likes. I think that’s great considering the Facebook page is only six months old. Many mahalos go out to all of you who help make that happen.
And if you haven’t visited yet, check it out. The Facebook page has lots of extra info on Exotic Tiki Island, and we love to welcome new people. Also, you can subscribe to the podcast via iTunes.
Just search for Exotic Tiki Island in your iTunes player and you’ll see us. And don’t forget to visit the official Exotic Tiki Island website. You can go to www.exotictikiisland.com where you can get more detailed info on each podcast episode and the music that is played on the show.
And while you’re there, be sure to check out Tiki Brian’s online Tiki shop for vintage Hawaiian clothing, Tiki decor, and vintage Hawaiian exotica music. Just visit exotictikiisland.com for more info. Well, let’s travel back in time to Exotic Tiki Island.
As you may know from listening to previous shows, we take many different modes of transportation to the island, and this show is no exception. Today, we will be traveling to the island by way of a flying magic carpet. Yep, you heard it, a flying magic carpet.
Climb aboard, everyone. Hold on to your Tiki drinks, Fez hats, and grass skirts, let’s take a Far East exotic ride to Exotic Tiki Island. Here we go!
That was a pretty fun ride. Hold on tight, we’re coming in for a landing.
Welcome to the island. Let’s enjoy the swaying palm trees from the cool gentle ocean breeze blowing off the water as we lay in our hammocks, sipping our favorite cocktails, and listening to some relaxing Hawaiian music. Aloha and welcome.
You are now on the main beach on exotic Tiki Island.
This is the beach of Waikiki, and all of us here under the big Moana banyan tree along the Golden Sands have a big welcome for you. We say, Aloha as Hawaii calls.
And aloha to you. Now, you who are listening, let’s pretend you’re gonna come over here and get comfortable in this long, low bamboo chair on the Shady Lanai.
It’s the music as well as the comfortable people and the romance that make these Hawaiian islands unique in all the world. So here’s what we have for you. Some bright, lively Hawaiian songs, some that’ll make you see the moonlight on the ocean and hear the rustle of the fronds in the tall palm trees.
The Exotic Tiki Island Podcast will be right back after this important message.
Walt Disney, whose artistry marked a new era in motion picture entertainment, now sets a new milestone with his first all live action feature, Treasure Island. The story which thrilled 200 million readers throughout the world. Only Walt Disney could bring to realistic life and with such dramatic impact, Robert Stewart Stevenson’s memorable characters.
Long John Silver, portrayed by that world famous star, Robert Newton.
We can take this ship right now. Then I say cut the ropes.
And I say there’ll be no killing till I gives the word.
Shipmates.
Yes, they’re all here. Palfa Squire Trelawney, Captain Smollett, Dr. Libesey, the murderous black dog, rum-swinging Billy Bones, the villainous blind pew, and poor Ben Gunn, marooned on Treasure Island.
Exotic Tiki Island Podcast. It’s time to head over to the Hurricane Hut Lounge, located on the lower south side of Exotic Tiki Island. We’ll have to travel through some thick jungle in order to get there, but as long as we stay together and don’t veer off the path, we should arrive soon.
Everybody hold up for a second. Listen. Up ahead around the bend, I think I hear music.
Let’s get a little closer and check it out.
It’s nice music, it’s always a treat to hear them perform. Well, let’s continue our hike and head over to the Hurricane Hut Lounge. It’s just up ahead.
Let’s do it.
One of my favorite places to visit on Exotic Tiki Island is the Hurricane Hut Lounge. As soon as you enter the lounge, you are surrounded with lush tropical decor from multi-colored puffer fish lights hanging from the bamboo ceiling behind the bar to the indoor waterfall featuring hand-carved Tiki gods peeking out from large leaf plants that surround this water feature. The atmosphere from the Hurricane Hut Lounge is what makes this little hideaway a great place to meet the locals and enjoy some of the best food and drink while being entertained by some of the most talented lounge acts around.
Let’s take a seat and enjoy some wonderful music.
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. The Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel takes great pleasure in presenting their outstanding top-room Polynesian review featuring the Hilton hula maids.
You.
Thank you very kindly. The Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel takes great pleasure in presenting the star of our show and mistress of ceremonies, Hawaii’s own, Hilo Hattie.
Thank you very much for joining us this evening in this tropical setting of the taparoo. And I do hope you’re going to enjoy our show because we have so much to present to you things that are Hawaiian. I’d like for you to enjoy the warm and gentle voice of our Lady of Song as she sings for you one of the lovely numbers written for an old Hawaiian homestead.
Here is our lovely and graceful Lani.
Thank you. Isn’t she lovely?
Oh, that’s good. Oh, that’s real nice. We would like for the boys to sing as the hula maids dance for you, two of our lovely songs of the seas.
That was awesome. The Hurricane Hut Lounge never disappoints. We will visit this tropical paradise again soon.
We now break for these important messages. We’ll be right back.
Noe Noe from Kellogg’s.
New Kellogg’s puffa puffa rice. A newa, a nowa, a Kellogg’s will bring you new kind of rack of a cereal, in puff and toasted rice, in Paul Kellogg’s puffa puffa rice.
Oceans of air. In Paul Kellogg’s puffa puffa rice. Oceans of air.

And when they do a hit, you know it’s been done.
Hawaii Five-O also available in four-track, eight-track, and concept.
Aloha, and welcome back to the Exotic Tiki Island Podcast.
Another one of my favorite places to visit on the island is Grandpa Otto’s Grotto. He’s a long time local resident on the island and is loved by everyone. Grandpa Otto has a wonderful vintage Hawaiian record collection that he likes to play on his old Victrola when visitors stop by.
Let’s pay him a visit and see if he’s up to sharing some of his vintage Hawaiian musical treasures. Here we go.
Thank Who is it? Hey, Grandpa Otto, it’s Tiki Brian. I have some Tiki friends with me.
May we come in? Sure. I was just cranking up the old Victrola so I could hear some of these vintage Hawaiian records I just bought at the local antique store.
Would you and your Tiki friends like to hear them? You bet, Grandpa Otto. It’s always a pleasure to hear those great Hawaiian songs from way back in the day.
Okay. I’ve got the Victrola all cranked up and ready to go. Why don’t you all have a seat and relax?
Enjoy.
As usual, you’ve entertained us with some wonderful music. It’s time for us to get going. Thanks again, Grandpa, and we’ll see you soon.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the rest of your visit on Exotic Tiki Island. Well, it’s starting to get a little late, so we better head back to the main beach so we can start to prepare for our ride back home.
Welcome back to the main beach on Exotic Tiki Island. I hope all of you had as much fun on this trip as I did. Our flying magic carpet is ready to fly us back to the present day and time.
Let’s all climb aboard and begin our exotic journey back home.
Well, sadly, our trip to Exotic Tiki Island is now over, and we are now back home in the present day and time. I hope all of you enjoyed your trip. Be sure to join me again soon for another visit back to Exotic Tiki Island.
Until next time, this is Tiki Brian and the Exotic Tiki Island Podcast.
