Aloha, and welcome to a very special Halloween edition of the Exotic Tiki Island Podcast. I’m your host, Tiki Brian, and I’ll be taking you on an excursion back in time to a faraway place called Exotic Tiki Island while playing Exotica, Hawaiian, and island-related music from my personal LP collection.

Oh, and I’ll also be playing some Exotica and Island theme Halloween tunes that fit the theme of this special edition podcast. Halloween on Exotic Tiki Island is one of the most exciting times to visit the island. You are going to experience firsthand how the local islanders and natives celebrate this ghoulish holiday.

In this special episode, we will be visiting the main beach, the bamboo bar, the Hurricane Hut Lounge, the Virgin Volcano, Voodoo Peak, and the Forbidden Lagoon. That’s a lot of places to visit, so let’s start the fun and board our boat and travel back in time to Exotic Tiki Island for this very special Halloween episode.

How’s it going? I wanted to let everyone know that I just received word over the radio that there are some dangerous storms up ahead. So we’ll be taking a long detour around them.

Stay alert, we’ll be traveling through some shark-infested waters, but we should be okay.

Thank We’re gonna need a bigger boat.

When hinges creak in doorless chambers, and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls, whenever candlelights flicker, where the air is deathly still, that is the time when ghosts are present, practicing their terror with ghoulish delight.

You are the master of a giant passenger liner. You carry hundreds of happy souls on a holiday cruise, but along a rocky coast, you encounter dense fog. Are you too near the shore with its crashing surf and jagged rocks?

Who knows?

You reduce speed and proceed cautiously. Then you leave the bridge to go below and reassure the passengers, leaving the bridge unattended only for a moment.

That was quite an interesting boat ride. I’m glad we made it to the island in one piece. We are now on the main beach on Exotic Tiki Island, and a Halloween party has just begun, and we’re invited.

Let’s go.

Voodoo, an ancient religion that originated in West Africa and spread worldwide. It has blanketed the four corners of our planet and possibly farther, reaching out to the heavens above and to the depths of Hades below. Unique in that it does protect, heal, or harm, depending on the charm and which spell or spirits are evoked to do the bidding of the priest or priestess.

Amulets, charms, chants, herbs, potions, hypnotic repetitions all play a part in its magic, a magic so powerful it crosses time, space, and realities.

Let’s take a break for some important messages, and we’ll be right back with more Halloween fun on Exotic Tiki Island.

Halloween comes up tomorrow. You’re giving a party or dancing? Well, you can’t miss with Philco’s new kind of radio phonograph, the sensational Philco 1201.

It’s the exclusive new Philco invention, already the largest selling radio phonograph in the world. Combining a fine radio with a revolutionary new type of record player, so completely automatic, you could play it blindfold. All you do is put a record in the slot, close the door, and it plays.

It’s just that simple and easy.

This is my father. He hangs pictures. Helps grandpa experiment.

Helps mommy with the cleaning. From me. I lend him my Cheerios.

Daddy says they’re the greatest thing since Batwing. Mommy says they give him protein and stuff. Give your father some go.

And he might play catch with you.

Welcome back to the Exotic Tiki Island Podcast. Let’s continue with our special Halloween episode and head over to the Bamboo Bar. It’s just a short walk through the jungle, and we’ll be there shortly.

Stay close together. The jungle can be very scary at night, especially during Halloween time.

You We have arrived at the Bamboo Bar. This dimly lit Tiki Hideout is our second stop on our exotic Tiki Island Halloween special. Let’s head inside for some festive entertainment.

Let’s go.

Ladies and gentlemen, your sponsor presents The Haunted House of Song.

Thanks for watching!

The Bamboo Bar is always a great place to visit on the island, but it’s especially entertaining during the Halloween season. Don’t you agree? Well, let’s move on and journey on to our next stop, the Hurricane Hut Lounge.

I hear they host one of the largest Halloween parties on the island. Let’s take a shortcut to the lounge and travel through the cursed woods. I’m sure you don’t mind if we take this shortcut, do you?

Hinges creak in doorless chambers, and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls. Whenever candlelights flicker, where the air is deathly still, that is the time when ghosts are present, practicing their terror with.

Whew!

We made it to the Hurricane Hut Lounge. Let’s head inside and enjoy some spooky cocktails and Halloween party music.

But this one haunts me so, I dare and let her go, it’s so thrilling, really chilling.

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary, over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore.

Let’s take a short break and we’ll be right back with more Halloween fun on exotic Tiki Island.

Hi, ghost fans. This is your on-the-spot reporter, tiptoeing through the creaky doors of the Disneyland Haunted Mansion to bring you another in-spirit interview. Hovering at my side is Granny Ghoul, former Peoria socialite and silent movie vamp.

Hi there, big boy.

Granny, you look absolutely inhuman.

Thank you. This is my latest creation, a see-through bell-bottom bedsheet with big holes where my eyes used to be.

Stunning. But tell me, Granny, is it true that this mansion is haunted by 999 ghosts?

That’s right, you brave devil. But there’s always room for one more, especially if he’s as spirited as you seem to be.

Well, thanks, Granny, but I’m a human.

Well, no one’s perfect. But you can visit anytime. We’re very friendly here.

I wanted to ask you about that, Granny. What do you think of letting real people into Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion?

Well, they are kind of fun to watch, but all that yelling and screaming is spooky. Why, you’d think they’d never seen a ghost before.

Into the deepest jungles went Pressman Toymakers looking for something new.

The secret they brought back for you is incredible.

The Pressman Witch Doctor Head Shrinkers Kit.

Plastic flesh, mixing cauldron and petrifying potion.

Just pour it into the mold, and in minutes, you can add monster hair.

Paint it with a coloring kit included, or make up your own decorations.

In 24 hours, the heads shrink, shrink down.

Now, shrunken heads for all occasions. Collect them, swap them. Give them to your witch doctor friends.

You can always cook up more with Pressman’s Witch Doctor Head Shrinkers Kit.

Before we continue our celebration of Halloween on Exotic Tiki Island, I wanted to give you a quick reminder to head over to the official Exotic Tiki Island website, www.exotictikiisland.com. And once you’re there, you can subscribe to the show, learn more information about the music and artists that are played on the show, and shop for vintage Tiki products, including vintage LPs, Tiki clothing, and collectibles. It’s all over on the official website, www.exotictikiisland.com.

Now, let’s continue with Halloween on Exotic Tiki Island. Since we’re near the Forbidden Lagoon, why don’t we pay it a visit and watch the local natives as they celebrate this festive season? We have to head up to Voodoo Peak in order to get a good view, and we’ll be traveling through headhunter territory, so let’s stay close together, and we should be fine.

Bye.

Welcome to Voodoo Peak, the perfect place to watch the natives down on the Forbidden Lagoon. Let’s listen and hear how the natives on the Forbidden Lagoon celebrate Halloween.

Thank you.

Bye That was pretty spooky and entertaining at the same time. I hope you are having as much fun as I am. Halloween on Exotic Tiki Island is awesome.

We have one more place to visit on the island. It’s the Virgin Volcano, and it’s located all the way over on the far east side of the island. I know a shortcut to the volcano, but it’s through some very spooky dark jungle.

When we arrive, we can expect to see the islanders celebrating this festive holiday at the foot of the volcano by dancing and performing spooky Exotica music.

Thank That walk wasn’t too long. We are now at the foot of the Virgin Volcano, and just in time to listen to the natives as they celebrate their version of Halloween. Let’s relax and enjoy the show.

The Natives sure do know how to celebrate Halloween. Well, our visit to Exotic Tiki Island is almost over. We should head back to the main beach and prepare for our trip back home.

We are now back on the main beach and ready for our trip back home. I wanna thank all of you for joining me on this special episode as we celebrated Halloween on Exotic Tiki Island. Don’t worry, we’ll come back to the island soon with more fun and adventures.

Until next time, this is Tiki Brian and the Exotic Tiki Island Podcast.
