The winner of our ETI Map Facebook challenge was listener Jeff Sovik. Jeff responded with the correct answers within 15 minutes of me posting the challenge. Congratulations, Jeff, and I hope you enjoy the poster.

And thanks for listening to the podcast and ETI Radio.

I’d also like to send out some big mahalos to listeners who sent in a donation over the past month to help me with some of the expensive costs of keeping the podcast going. Big mahalos go out to Denise from retroruthiesshop.com, makers of Fine Tiki Clothing, and also Joshua Bell, and to all of our recurring donators. Mahalo to all of you for your donations.

And I’d like to take a quick moment and ask any of you other listeners out there that are enjoying the show and download each new episode to please consider making a donation to the podcast. The cost of producing each show and making it available for free has increased quite a bit in recent months. I would like to ask for your help in offsetting some of the expenses by making a donation to the show.

I know many of you out there download, save, and enjoy every show. So if you can make a donation in any amount, it would really be appreciated. To make a donation, simply go to the official exotictikiisland.com website and click on the donation button.

Any amount is greatly appreciated and I thank you for supporting the Exotic Tiki Island podcast. And now friends, let’s get on with the show. We have a long list of places to visit on Exotic Tiki Island, so I’ve asked Captain Scotty B to get us to the island as quick as possible.

Here he is now with the Green Jeweled Skull. The powers of the Green Jeweled Skull will instantly take us to Exotic Tiki Island. Aloha, Tiki Brian.

I brought the Green Jeweled Skull just as you asked. Mahalo, Captain. Do you want to summon the Green Jeweled Skull for us?

No problem. JS, JS, wake up. We have a favor to ask you.

What is it, Captain Scotty B? Would you be so kind to transport all of us to exotic Tiki Island?

In return, Tiki Brian will play some wonderful Exotica music for your listening pleasure.

Captain, you know I can’t resist Exotica music. OK, is everyone ready? Let’s begin the adventure and travel to exotic Tiki Island.

See Mahalo, JS for that wonderful ride to the island. I’m going to ask another favor of you in a few minutes if that’s okay with you. I’ll be ready when you are, Tiki Brian.

Mahalo, JS. Welcome, wahinis and connies, to the main beach on exotic Tiki Island. This is the first of many stops on this adventure.

The main beach on exotic Tiki Island is almost always the first place we visit. When you reach the main beach, you know you’ve reached paradise. Upon arriving, you can always count on listening to some vintage Hawaiian music, the perfect way to start your adventure on exotic Tiki Island.

Let’s listen now. Welcome to the main beach.

Thank you for watching!

Our next stop is Island Base. Island Base is our main communication tower on exotic Tiki Island. We use it to send and receive messages from the mainland.

The large antenna on top of the roof is also used for broadcasting ETI radio out to the South Pacific and beyond. ETI radio broadcast on the first Friday of each month, starting at 3 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. So if you want more information on how to listen to ETI radio, just visit the exotictikiisland.com website and click on ETI radio.

You won’t be disappointed. Captain, why don’t you play one of your favorite songs you enjoy listening to when you’re up in the island base tower? My pleasure, Tiki Brian.

And now, friends, here’s one of my favorite tunes.

See.

Mahalo, Captain, for that wonderful tune. And friends, we are now at the base of the Virgin Volcano. The Virgin Volcano is located on the upper west side of the island.

On the last evening of each month, the local natives travel to the base of the volcano to pay their respect to the fire goddess Pele. They perform an evening of exotica music along with dancing to a peace Pele so that she won’t erupt the Virgin Volcano and cover their villages with hot molten lava. To see and hear this ritual is a great honor and it solidifies the respect the natives have for their virgin volcano and Pele.

Let’s listen as the natives perform an exotica musical ritual.

We have arrived to the Exotic Orchid Cove. The Exotic Orchid Cove is a newly discovered place and is located on the upper north end of the island. Throughout the year, many of the tropical flowers and orchids are in full bloom.

Seeing this tropical paradise will make you forget about all of your worries and take you to an enchanted place that is not only pleasing to your eyes, but your ears as well. The Exotic Orchid Cove has a very interesting story. In fact, this is how Captain Scotty B and myself came into possession of the Green Jeweled Skull.

You see, many years ago, when the Tiki Gods created Exotic Tiki Island, they hid an ancient green jeweled skull with magical powers in a place called Exotic Orchid Cove so that it wouldn’t fall into the wrong hands. The Tiki Gods were very clever and hid the skull somewhere within the cove and camouflaged it with beautiful tropical orchids. This would distract would-be thieves in making them forget about the green jeweled skull by mesmerizing them with the pure beauty of the orchids.

Until recently, no one thought the Exotic Orchid Cove existed, until a group of hikers exploring the remote areas of the island came across this cove confirming its existence and the beautiful orchids within. Now here’s where the story gets very interesting. Legend has it that when these orchids are exposed to beautiful Exotica music, they will reveal the ancient green jeweled skull and the powers that it possesses.

Well, of course, I played some Exotica music and the green jeweled skull revealed itself to me and that’s how we came to acquire the green jeweled skull. We now call him JS. And here’s one song that makes JS very happy.

Enjoy.

Our next stop on the island is actually 200 years into the future, and our friend JS takes us there using his magical powers of time traveling. JS., would you mind taking us for a quick visit into the future and visit the Orbit Lounge?

Your wish is granted. Let’s go!

We have arrived to the Orbit Lounge, 200 years in the future on exotic Tiki Island. And this is what the future of Exotica Music sounds like. Enjoy, my friends.

We are now back on the island in the same time from where we left from. And JS has brought us to the entrance of Tiki Gardens, which is our next stop. Tiki Gardens with a South Seas Polynesian theme park located in Indian Shores, Florida.

In 1962, Trader Frank and Waiheni Joe Byers opened a small garden about four acres that was adjacent to their Signal House gift shop. Unfortunately, in 1963, the gift shop burned down, but within one year, Frank and Joe were able to rebuild, expand and reopen the attraction. And by 1969, Tiki Gardens expanded to a 12 acre tourist attraction, making it a favorite for guests of all ages.

Now sadly, in 1986, the Byers sold Tiki Gardens to a developer who planned to build a hotel on the large property, but it never came to be. And eventually, the land was turned into a public beach access parking lot. Now luckily for us, there was a souvenir LP record that was produced that included an audio journey of Tiki Gardens.

This LP was titled Exotic Sounds From Tiki Gardens and it featured the song Polynesian Fantasy. On our special 25th ETI podcast episode, I played host and emcee to this wonderful Polynesian attraction from yesteryear. And now, here’s a wonderful song from Tiki Gardens.

Enjoy. Aloha, good evening, ladies and gentlemen. It’s now twilight time here at Tiki Gardens and again, it’s time for torch lighting.

So all of you folks in the various shops, if you’d care to join with us in our ceremony, if you’ll kindly step out into the little garden, we’re about to begin. Now the peacocks have come over. They’re perched atop the various buildings.

You can hear them in the background. So to get you in the mood for your trip to the South Sea Islands, here’s Ernie playing for you a medley of beautiful Hawaiian tunes.

We’ll be right back and continue our adventure right after a few words about our sponsors.

The Exotic Tiki Island podcast will return after these important messages.

You’re listening to Tiki Brian and the exotic Tiki Island Podcast.

Welcome back to the Exotic Tiki Island Podcast. Tiki Brian, if I’m not mistaken, we have arrived to the Enchanted Falls. You’re correct, Captain.

The Enchanted Falls is located up on the north side of the island. This exotic paradise is home of lush exotic plants, tropical flowers, and a cascading waterfall that pours into a pool of crystal blue water. This is the perfect setting to attract mermaids.

Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you can see them sunbathing on the rocks located in the center of the pool. Look, I see the mermaids now sunbathing and enjoying the music.

Let’s listen.

Friends, we are now approaching Grandpa Otto’s Grotto, our next stop on the island. Let me tell some of you newer listeners about Grandpa Otto. He’s been a resident of Exotic Tiki Island for many years, and everyone on the island knows him very well.

I think he’s been around as long as Exotic Tiki Island, but one thing you can say about Grandpa Otto is that he loves to play his vintage Hawaiian records on his Victrola when visitors stop by. If you’re lucky enough to catch him when he’s not resting, you can hear some of the best vintage Hawaiian music from way back in the day. Now, I don’t want to disturb him right now, but if you listen carefully, you can hear him playing his Victrola.

Let’s listen.

I hope everyone is enjoying this special visit to the island. Up next is the Rivers Of Adventure. The Rivers Of Adventure is packed full of fun and, well, adventure.

This is one of Captain Scotty B’s favorite places to explore with his boat. You can be sure that there is excitement around every bend of the river. And friends, be sure to listen to shows four and 33.

Both shows feature a wonderful ride down the Rivers Of Adventure. So you definitely want to check it out. And now, here’s a song that will take us down the Rivers Of Adventure to our next stop.

Welcome, friends, to our next stop on exotic Tiki Island, the Bamboo Bar. The Bamboo Bar is a local favorite. It’s a very small place that’s dimly lit.

After you walk through the front door of the bar, you feel as if you stepped into a dark jungle very late at night. If you’re in the mood to hear some dark jungle exotica music, then this is the place. Some locals believe that the music played here is taboo, but I’m sure you don’t believe that superstition, do you?

Oh, and pirates have been known to stop by from time to time before they head out to sea and search for booty. Let’s go inside the bamboo bar and enjoy a cocktail along with some wonderful music before we continue our adventure. Welcome to the bamboo bar.

We are now approaching Pele’s Pleasure. Pele’s Pleasure is a favorite hangout for all of the club-going wahinis and connies on exotic Tiki Island. This taboo night spot is well known for its high-energy exotica after-hours party music.

Pele’s Pleasure serves the best zombie cocktail on the island. So I invite you to listen to ETI Podcast Show number 33 to see if you can handle Pele’s Pleasure. For now, let’s move on to our next area of the island and it’s called Voodoo Peak.

Voodoo Peak is the perfect viewing spot for watching the natives down on the Forbidden Lagoon. Let’s head up there now and check out the view. Off we go to Voodoo Peak.

Listen, be very quiet. We are in luck because down on the Forbidden Lagoon, the natives are preparing for their exotica musical ritual for the Tiki Guards. Every night, the lagoon comes alive with the island natives that meet here and perform.

This is a very private ritual, so we must make sure not to be seen by the natives. Outsiders are strictly forbidden, and if they catch us, our heads may end up shrunken and placed on top of a spear. Let’s listen as the ritual begins down on the Forbidden Lagoon.

Up next is the Haunted Hut. Yes, Exotic Tiki Island has a haunted hut. It’s filled with headhunters, spooky Tiki gods, and exotic goddesses from the afterlife.

And if you listen to ETI Show 20, you’ll find out for yourself how we celebrate Halloween here on Exotic Tiki Island. For now, let’s move on to our next stop, which is the Aloha Beach.

Another fantastic place to visit on the island is the Aloha Beach. It’s rarely seen by the mainlanders, but from time to time, we are invited by the islanders to join in with them in celebration as they host a Hukilau and a Luau. Traditional Hawaiian and Habahale music is often heard on the Aloha Beach.

And when you come to the Aloha Beach, make sure you’re hungry and ready for entertainment. Let’s enjoy some music from the Aloha Beach.

Welcome to our next stop on our adventure, the Hurricane Hut Lounge. The lounge is one of the most popular spots on the island, and plays host to some of the best Exotica and Hawaiian musical acts around. You’ll find some very tasty tiki cocktails here too.

So let’s go inside and visit and listen to some live music from the lounge. Welcome to the Hurricane Putnam. Thank you.

Well, there you have it, friends. You have visited every location on Exotic Tiki Island in one episode. I hope you enjoy the adventure, but sadly, friends, it’s time to go back to the present day and time.

But fear not. Captain Scotty B and myself will be back soon with another adventure here on Exotic Tiki Island. Mahalo for listening to the podcast and supporting the show.

And don’t forget to check out ETI Radio, a weekend-long broadcast of even more rare music from my personal vinyl and digital collection. Visit exotictikiisland.com and click on ETI Radio for more information. We’ll see you next time.

Mahalo, everyone.
