Aloha, and welcome to Show 53 of the Exotic Tiki Island Podcast. I’m your host, Tiki Brian. Get ready to travel back in time to an island paradise located in the South Pacific, a place with swaying palm trees, cool, gentle ocean breezes, and golden sandy beaches.
That place is the one and only Exotic Tiki Island, and we’re going to travel there now in Captain Scotty B’s boat while enjoying vintage Hawaiian, Exotica, and Tiki tunes from my vinyl and digital collection. The music, fun, and adventure begin right after we hear a few words from some of our sponsors.
So you’re relaxing at your Tiki bar or maybe your tropical retreat, and you’re wondering what type of Tiki cocktail are you going to make? Whatever it is, be sure to use Lemon Hart & Son Blackpool Spiced Rum. This British style 86 proof rum is bold, full flavored, and smooth.
With your first sip of Blackpool Spiced Rum, you’ll experience notes of exotic dried fruit, island spices, and vanilla bean with an all natural spiced infusion resulting in a definitive spiced rum experience. Enjoy over ice, it’s simply sublime. Or mix it with your favorite Tiki cocktail for an adventurous awakening.
So before making your next Tiki drink, be sure to pick up some Lemon Hart & Son Blackpool Spiced Rum. You’ll be glad you did. And while you’re at it, don’t forget the Lemon Hart & Son 151 Overproof Rum.
It’s the quintessential rum for all of your Tiki cocktails. For more information on all Lemon Hart & Son rums, visit their website at www.lemonhartrum.com. That’s www.lemonhartrum.com.
Lemon Hart & Son are a proud sponsor of the Exotic Tiki Island Podcast and ETI Radio.

Mahalo.
Welcome back to the podcast. Are you ready to travel to the island? Good.
Now, in our last podcast episode, the theme of the show was classic Exotica music for a dark, dimly lit Tiki bar. So I’ve decided for this show, I’m going to be playing all modern Exotica music for a Tiki bar. So let’s begin our adventure.
Captain Scotty B is approaching the dock now in his boat. He’s going to escort all of us to paradise.
Aloha, Tiki Brian. Aloha, Captain. You’re right on time.
Everyone has just arrived and we can’t wait to board the boat and head to the island. Wonderful. Welcome, Wahinis and Connies.
Come aboard and make yourself comfortable. My crew and I have prepared hammocks for everyone to relax on the upper deck while we travel back to the island. Wow, Captain.
You sure do know how to travel. That’s just how I roll. Please watch your step as you board.
Please watch your step. And you, ma’am, watch your step. Please everybody, be careful and watch your step.
Okay Captain, everyone’s on board and we’re ready to go. Alright friends, lay back in those hammocks and relax. After we reach the open seas, I’ll be serving everyone a special tiki drink.
In the meantime, enjoy some modern Exotica Tiki tunes from Tiki Brian.
Thank I must say, Captain, these hammocks are just a thing to help relieve the stress of today’s hectic life. The weather is perfect, the seas are calm, and Exotic Tiki Island is straight ahead. This day just couldn’t get any better.
It’s time to gather around my Tiki bar, and I’ll make you a tasty liquid libation that I know everybody will enjoy. This cocktail is called the Black Pool Column, made with Lemon Hart and Sun Black Pool Spiced Rum. This is how you make the Black Pool Column.
Three-quarter ounce of lemon juice, quarter ounce of vanilla syrup, two ounces of pineapple juice, one and a half ounces of Lemon Hart Black Pool Spiced Rum, half ounce of Lemon Hart 151 Rum, half ounce of Cointreau, two dashes of Angostura Bitters. Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and shake. Strain into your vessel of your choice, garnish with a wedge of pineapple, and enjoy!
Very nice, Captain. And listeners, you can get the recipe for the Black Pool Column by going over to the official exotictikiisland.com website and click on the Tiki drinks in the top menu bar, and you will see the Black Pool Column drink featuring Lemon Hart Black Pool Spiced Rum. Now that we have our Black Pool Column cocktail, let’s relax in our hammocks and continue our voyage to Exotic Tiki Island.
Onward we go!
Bye Welcome, Wahinis and Coneys, to Exotic Tiki Island. It’s a beautiful day, 88 degrees and sunny skies. The trade winds are gently blowing in off the Pacific Ocean.
And speaking of trade winds, here’s a short poem by John Masefield about the magic of the trade winds.
And now, friends, it’s late in the evening here on the island. Let’s light the tiki torches and enjoy some more modern, exotic music. Aloha.
I hope everyone’s enjoying the music. What do you say we head up to the Forbidden Lagoon and watch the islanders perform an Exotica ritual celebrating their heritage? But we must be very quiet and stay out of sight because this ritual is strictly forbidden to mainlanders.
Let’s take the jungle trail up to the Forbidden Lagoon right after we take a short break and hear from another one of our sponsors. Aloha, everyone. This is Tiki Brian.
You know, it’s not too early to think about what you’re going to do this holiday season. And why not do something amazing that you’ll remember for the rest of your life? The 8th annual 1940s and 50s White Christmas Ball Event happening Saturday, December 2nd in Denver, Colorado can be the high point of this holiday season.
Step back in time this Christmas for an unforgettably magical 40s and 50s holiday party that will bring back all the warmth and nostalgia of a more simple time. Experience an enchanted evening of dancing with your sweetheart or maybe even meet one amidst 1940s and 50s vehicles, movie set lights and props, reenactors, sleighs, Christmas trees, and the most sought after big bands, including the Hot Tomatoes and the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra. Also featured in this event, a very special appearance by Hollywood’s 1940s tap dancing and singing performance troupe, The Satin Dolls, and an incredible vintage Vegas tribute show with Frank Sinatra and friends coming straight from Vegas for the event.
Enjoy reenactments from a timeless movie, White Christmas. Watch Bing Crosby, Danny, and the Haynes Sisters perform. Enjoy Jimmy Stewart and Clarence in our It’s a Wonderful Life Christmas radio show.
Highlights of the 1940s and 50s White Christmas ball include a recreation of the White Christmas movie set, World War II era vehicles, along with military reenactors all under a canopy of lights. Plus, I’ll be hosting a special White Christmas radio broadcast from my ETI radio online station all day and night during the event, playing Christmas music from the 40s and 50s. Be sure to check out the event info all available on their website.

Welcome back to the podcast. Let’s venture up the jungle trail to the Forbidden Lagoon. This way, my friends, this way.
We have arrived to the Forbidden Lagoon. Let’s stay low and very quiet while we enjoy the show. Look, Tiki Brian, the ritual is about to begin.
Simply amazing. I love watching them perform, and I hope you did too. Well, friends, it’s getting late, so let’s head back to the main beach and prepare for our journey home.
Off we go to the main beach.
