Aloha, and welcome to show number two of the Exotic Tiki Island Podcast. My name is Tiki Brian, and I hope you’re ready for another fantastic trip back to Exotic Tiki Island, as I play more great vintage Hawaiian, Exotica, and island-related music from my personal LP collection. Before we get started, I just wanted to say thank you and mahalo to all of you who emailed me your comments and suggestions about the first show.
The feedback has been wonderful, and I really appreciate you taking the time to email me. Keep the comments and suggestions coming because your feedback is what gives me ideas for upcoming shows. So now, let’s get right to it and start our voyage back into time and travel to Exotic Tiki Island.
Enjoy, everybody, and I’ll catch up with you later on in the show.
It’s a great night to go back to the old songs, the old melees, the old chants of old Hawaii. So from the Hawaiian Islands, land of summertime eternal, the trade winds send out a hearty invitation clear across the blue Pacific to you.
Thank you.
Go.
Thank you.
The Exotic Tiki Island Podcast will return right after this important message. Exciting. Get the exciting taste of the tropics in Street’s new Hawaiian Delight.
The exciting taste of luscious tropical fruit, big bite-sized pineapple and pawpaw pieces, passion fruit, orange and banana. Frozen, frozen fast in Hawaiian Delight. Street’s magical new frozen fruit salad.
Cool as a splash, thick with luscious fruit chunks. Street’s new frozen fruit salad, Hawaiian Delight. There’s a new taste in pineapple from Dole.
A little less sweet. A lot more natural. So fresh tasting, you’ll hardly believe it came out of a can.
Dole pineapple, packed in its own juice instead of syrup. No sugar added. You’ll notice the fresher taste, especially when you serve it all by itself.
Let’s take a small walk off this hill and visit one of my favorite places on exotic Tiki Island. It’s called the Bamboo Bar. Now the Bamboo Bar is a very small place, dimly lit with a feeling that makes you think you’re in a deep forbidden dark jungle.
You definitely won’t hear any half a howling music in this bar. So what do you say we stop by for a drink and listen to some music before we visit Grandpa Otto’s Grotto? Let’s do it!
Okay, we better make our way over to Grandpa Otto’s grotto before he turns in for the night. His grotto is just a short walk around this bend, and we’ll be there in no time.
We are now entering Grandpa Otto’s Grotto. I’d like to tell you a little bit about Grandpa Otto. He’s been a resident of Exotic Tiki Island for many years, and everyone on the island knows him very well.
I think he’s been around as long as Exotic Tiki Island. One thing you can say about Grandpa Otto is that he loves to play his vintage Hawaiian records on his old Victrola when visitors stop by. Let’s see if he’s home and awake, and maybe he can share some of those vintage Hawaiian treasures from way, way back in the day.
Who is it? It’s Tiki Brian. I thought you would like to meet some of my new Tiki friends and share some of those great vintage Hawaiian records you enjoy playing so much.
Sure. Come on in and sit down and relax while I play some great music for you. I see you’ve got lots of vintage Hawaiian fans here with you today, so I’ll get right to it.
Let me crank up the Victrola and enjoy the music, everyone.
Naka-Leu, Miki-Miki, Nana-Ekwa-Lau-Le-Lilo. Naka-Leu, Miki-Miki, Nana-Ekwa-Lau-Le-Lilo.
Wow, that was a really nice tree, Grandpa Otto. Thank you for sharing your music collection with us. Well, it’s getting late, so we better get going.
We’ll be sure to stop back for another visit very soon.

This is Tiki Brian and the Exotic Tiki Island Podcast.
And so with her bow majestically pointing into the trade winds, the luxurious queen of the Pacific, the Laureline, reluctantly sails from Honolulu Harbor. And as the Aloha Tower sinks behind the horizon, we bid fond farewell to Hawaii. However, our vacation has not come to an end, for we still have the luxurious voyage homeward.”
