Mahalo!

Alright friends, let’s get on with the show. Today, Captain Scotty B is going to escort all of us to the island by way of his, are you ready for this, magic carpet. You heard it right, a magic carpet.

Here comes Captain Scotty B now on his rug. Over here Captain, bring her down into this open area so we can all climb aboard.

Coming in for a landing Tiki Brian, stand clear.

What a perfect landing, Captain.

I almost flipped it over. I’m still getting used to flying this contraption.

I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it Captain with more practice.

I sure hope so. Okay, is everyone ready to climb aboard my magic carpet? Hold on tight, let’s take an exotic Far East ride to exotic Tiki Island.

Thank Hang on, friends.

I’m going to land this rug on the main beach.

Welcome, Wahinis and Coneys to the main beach on Exotic Tiki Island. The water temperature is 79 degrees, with an air temperature of 80, and a calm trade wind blowing in from the South Pacific. Captain, I think it’s time to make a Tiki cocktail and start our adventure.

I couldn’t agree more, Tiki Brian. Today, our featured ETI cocktail is the Passion Fizz cocktail. This is what you’ll need to make the Passion Fizz cocktail.

One and a half ounces of the Golden Rum, that’s Cock Spur Rum. One ounce of Passion Fruit Syrup, and Club Soda. A sprig of spearmint for garnish, and a lime wedge for garnish.

And this is how we’ll make the Passion Fizz cocktail. Fill rocks glass or your favorite Tiki mug with crushed ice, add the rum and syrup, and then top off with Club Soda. Stir, then garnish with spearmint and lime wedge, and enjoy!

Excellent cocktail, captain! And listeners, you can make this tiki drink and enjoy it along with us by going to the official exotictikiisland.com website and click on the Tiki Drinks and Cocktails located at the top menu bar of the webpage. And feel free to leave comments and let us know how you like the Passion Fizz cocktail.

Now that we have our drink, let’s play some music that compliments our surroundings on this Paradise Isle.

Captain, look, what’s that washing up on the beach?

I think this is another one of those lost audio tape containers from David Gaston’s upcoming This Is Vintage Now Volume 2 CD. Remember in our last episode when we found two other containers of audio tapes?

You’re right, Captain. So now we’ve recovered three of the four audio tapes. I’ll contact David now on the shortwave, and let him know we found another container.

This is Tiki Brian calling David Gaston. Come in, David. Do you read me?

Over.

I hear you, Tiki Brian. Over.

We found another container with an audio tape for your upcoming This Is Vintage Now Volume 2 compilation CD. Over.

Fantastic. This is three of four missing audio tapes recovered now. Which one did you find?

Over.

This one says The Exotic Sandy Warner by The Sad Salamanders.

Excellent. So glad to have that one back. That song was written as a tribute to Sandy Warner, who’s the cover model on 14 different Martin Denny albums, and it’s called The Exotica Girl.

Feel free to play that one for your friends if you like. Over.

Mahalo, David. I’ll play it for them now. And the captain and I will keep a sharp eye out for that fourth missing container.

Over.

Sounds great, Tiki Brian. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Over and out.

Over and out, David. Friends, let’s head up towards the Hurricane Hut Lounge as we listen to another track from the upcoming This Is Vintage Now Volume 2 compilation CD. Again, this one’s called The Exotic Sandy Warriner by The Sad Salamanders.

Enjoy!

Brian, look, up ahead, I can see the Hurricane Hut Lounge.

Yes, Captain, I see it too. Let’s go inside and enjoy another Tiki cocktail and find out what’s happening in the lounge today.

Aloha, Wotanese and Connie’s. Welcome to the Hurricane Hut Lounge. And now, please welcome the Ukadelics, here tonight playing some songs from their new CD.

Aloha, Hurricane Hut Lounge. We are, in fact, the Ukadelics, Seattle’s favorite eight-member 1960s tropical lounge ukulele orchestra. Thanks for joining us here.

We’d now like to take you on an adventure to paradise.

And that was the theme to the ABC TV show Adventures in Paradise, created by James Mishner and running from 1959 to 1962. We play plenty of well-loved luau songs in our shows, but now the lovely Lisa is stepping up to the mic to sing a Ukadelix original, written by band members Kevin Wilson and Marnie Cohen Vance. Take it away, Lisa.

And that song is called Surfin Lessons, a Ucadelic’s original. It’s got a great beat and you can really drink to it. It featured the siren call of Charlene Hall on the background vocals.

She plays Melodica on this next original tune. Hit it, gang!

Thanks, folks. Hey, all of these great songs are featured on our latest CD, Runaway Pineapple Truck, which you can order directly from us through the yukadelix.com or off our Facebook page. Just $10 plus shipping.

You can find out all about us there and upcoming shows like The One in Tacoma on April 16th at the world-famous Javajive. We’ll be having a big old tiki party. Speaking of tiki parties.

Thanks, folks. It’s been a great night. We’ve really enjoyed playing for y’all here in the Hurricane Hut Lounge.

I’d like to quickly introduce the band. Off on my far right, Craig Keenard on banjo ukulele. Next to him, Charlene Hall on ukulele and bongos and vocals.

We got Lisa Bolero on ukulele and percussion and vocals. In the far back corner, we have our voodoo hula princess, Julie Miller on an armload of percussion instruments. Next to her, the international man of mystery, Jeff Ringer on drums and ukulele.

Marnie Cohen Vance on the bass and also vocals. To my left, Kevin Wilson on slide guitar and baritone ukulele. I am your host, Cap and Cook.

Thanks for joining us on this crazy adventure.

Wow, another amazing show right here at the Hurricane Hut Lounge. And friends, be sure to visit the official Ukadelix website to purchase your copy of their new CD titled Runaway Pineapple Truck. Their website is www.theukadelix.com.

I’ll post a link in the show notes, and be sure to tell them that you heard their music on Tiki Brian’s Exotic Tiki Island Podcast Show. Well friends, it’s starting to get late, so let’s make our way back to the main beach and prepare for our magic carpet ride home right after these important messages.

Welcome back to the podcast. Grab your tiki drinks and let’s head to the main beach.

We have arrived back on the main beach, and sadly, it’s time to go-

Tiki Brian, look!

Another one of those This Is Vintage Now, Volume 2 audio containers has washed up on the main beach!

Hey, look at that! We recovered the last missing container. Let me quickly contact David and let him know the good news.

This is Tiki Brian calling David Gaston. Come in, David. Are you there?

Over.

I’m right here, Tiki Brian. Did you find the last missing container? Over.

I sure did, David. And it’s in perfect shape, too. Over.

That’s wonderful. Well, there’s only one tape left, and that’s Sunday Combo’s Womp. Sunday Combo is a really fantastic bachelor pack group from the Netherlands.

Over.

And that’s what the container says. Sunday Combo. Womp.

Shall we go ahead and play that one, too? Over.

Absolutely. Go ahead. Well, fellas, thanks to you and your friends.

We have all the master tapes now. So we’ll start mastering This Is Vintage Now Volume 2, and we’ll make it available as soon as we can. Mahalo for your help, fellas.

I owe you my time next time we get together. This is David Gaston. Over and out.

You’re very welcome, David. Aloha. Over and out.

Well, friends, it looks like we only have time for one more song. But before we go, I want to say mahalo to all of you for listening and supporting the show. And with that being said, it’s time to say aloha, and we’ll be back again soon with more fun, adventure, and of course, music from my personal collection and show 46 of The Exotic Tiki Island Podcast.
